A woman was killed and three others including two of her daughters were injured when a motorcycle collided with a lorry in the Galkulama area of Kottukachchiya, Puttalam today evening.
The 43 year old woman was returning home after visiting her father in hospital.
Two of her daughters, one of them aged 24 years serving the Army Medical corps were seriously injured in the accident.
The third daughter had travelled by bus as there was no space on the bike.
The lorry driver too was injured after the vehicle toppled.
The woman’s husband had previously served in the Army and is currently serving in the SLTB Puttalam depot.
