A young woman who sustained burn injuries over an attack in a spa in Habarana on Thursday succumbed to her injuries on the following day at the Dambulla Hospital, police said.
The perpetrators had entered the spa on Thursday evening and attacked the employees while targeting the owner, who was admitted to the Dambulla Hospital, where she died the following day.
The victim was identified as a 28 year old person residing at Matale road in Maduragoda area.
The incident was revealed to be over a dispute in regard to a group that had arrived to obtain service from the spa. The body of the victim is currently placed at the mortuary of the Dambulla Hospital.
One suspect was remanded until July 7 over the incident after being produced before the Kekirawa Magistrate Court on Friday. Police are carrying out further investigation to arrest the other suspect.
