With the announcement of price controls on Dhal and canned fish consumers were experiencing shortages of the two item as some of the vendors were hoarding stocks.
Reports from several parts of the country said that vendors were reluctant to reduce prices claiming that they had brought the stocks at higher prices.
As a result long queues were seen outside Sathosa outlets in different parts of the country.
