About 200 elephants belonging to four herds are currently frequenting the bund around Kalawewa and Balalu Wewa, area residents stated.
Such a large number of elephants have been seen at the Kalawewa National Park after a long time and residents believe the shortage of visitors to the park had contributed to them frequenting the area in such large numbers.
A significant feature among the herds is that a large number of tuskers are also among them.
