Three persons including a child were killed, while eight were injured after a van crashed onto a tree near the fourth mile post area in Puttalam today (Oct 24).
The accident had occured when the van had skidded off the Puttalam-Anuradhapura road at around 12:20 pm, police said.
Police have identified the deceased victims as a man, a woman and a child. The injured victims are receiving treatment at the Puttalam Hospital.
Puttalam police are conducting further investigations into the accident.
