Three people from the same family were killed and four others injured following an accident involving a van and a three-wheeler in Vellankulam, Mannar yesterday, police said.
The accident happened while they were returning from a pilgrimage in Madhu curch, Mannar. Victims included a three year old child who was injured admitted to Kilinochchi hospital and later taken to Anuradhapura hospital for further medication.
The persons killed were identified as 55 years old P.Thavarasa, his wife T.Sahayadevi and their daughter S.Suganthini.They were residents of Jaffna.
