The Attorney General has filed an amended charge sheet at the Special High Court against seven suspects including former Defence Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaska over a misappropriation case.
The suspects have been accused of misappropriating state funds worth Rs 33.9 million in the construction of the D.A. Rajapaksa memorial museum.
Yesterday (Jul 26), the Supreme Court had issued an interim order suspending the Special High Court from hearing the case. This decision had been formally conveyed to court by the prosecution today.
During the court sitting, the AG had filed an amended charge sheet against the suspects by removing the fifth charge leveled against them.
Accordingly, the judge bench announced that the case would be taken up on August 30 to inquire the stance of the accused on the revision.
