The Attorney General (AG) has instructed the arrest of IGP Pujith Jayasundara and former Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando over the Easter Sunday attacks.
AG Dappula de Livera had issued these instructions to Acting Police Chief C.D Wickremeratne today (Jul 1).
These instructions had been issued since the senior state officials had not taken action to prevent the terrorist attacks on April 21 despite having prior information over the incident.
