Attorney General Jayantha Jayasuriya has said that the government has not sought legal assistance so far to extradite drug kingpin 'Makandure Madush' and 31 others who have been arrested in Dubai.
He added that the Attorney general's department would respond swiftly if the government seeks legal assistance in this regard.
Meanwhile, Western Province Governor Azath Salley has said that the arrested Sri Lankan suspects have been produced before courts in Dubai.
Addressing a rally in Negombo, Mr. Salley added that 'Makandure Madush' was residing in dubai under a fake identity.
He also said that large quantities of narcotics have been seized during the last few months since the implementation of the President's drug prevention programme.
