The Attorney General (AG) has sought to conclude proceedings in the case filed over a hacking incident into the computer of the Kotte Mayor, the Colombo High Court heard today (Jul 30).
The AG had filed a case against two persons including former Mayor Janaka Ranawaka, for hacking into the computer of Mayor Madura Vithanage during his tenure as Deputy Mayor.
Charges were filed against the suspects under the Computer Crimes Act for committing the offence in July 2017.
During today's hearing, court ordered that the case would be taken up on October 3 to hear the AG's stance on ending the case upon a consensus between both parties.
