All parties dealing with the MT New Diamond oil tanker, which was on fire, have been summoned by the Attorney General for a discussion today (14) to decide on future action, officials said.
Accordingly the Navy, the Marine Environment Protection Authority (MEPA), the Merchant shipping Secretariat, Sri Lanka Air Force and police representatives are among those summoned for the meeting.
The move comes as the CID is to file a report in courts today about the vessel and the fire. This would include findings after recording the statement of the ship captain.
A spokesman for the MEPA said a decision would also be taken regarding the ship.
The ship is currently held 45 nautical miles off the south eastern coast.
