An Air Force officer on duty in front of the official residence of the Ambassador of Switzerland in Colombo down Thurstan Road has shot himself, Police said.
The officer hailing from Gampola was on duty in front of the Swiss Ambassador’s residence when the incident occurred at about 1.15pm.
The officer had succumbed to injuries after admission to the Colombo National Hospital.
The reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained Police are conducting further investigations.
