All book stores run by the Educational Publications Department (EPD) will remain closed until January 2, 2020, the Education Ministry said in a statement.
This is in keeping with an internal audit carried out annually, EPD Commissioner General Jayantha Wickramanayake was quoted as saying in the statement.
He expressed regret over any inconvenience caused to the public as a result of the closures.
