All licenses issued for nine millimeter pistols and revolvers have been cancelled with effect from today (Jan 21), Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando said.
Accordingly, the new licenses would be issued from January 23.
Mr. Hemasiri said that the firearms would need to be produced before the Defence Ministry while obtaining the new license.
