All schools including private owned in flood-affected districts would be closed from tomorrow (30th May) to Friday (2nd June), Education Minister Akila Wiraj Kariyawasam said today.
Accordingly schools in Colombo, Kalutara, Gampaha, Matara, Galle, Hambantota, Kegalle, and Ratnapura Districts would be closed as they are affected by the prevailing disaster situation. The Minister has also instructed to provide three sets of uniforms and other essential resources to the school children in flood-affected areas free of charge.
