Leader of the Mahason Balakaya Movement Amith Weerasinghe has been granted bail by the Colombo Magistrate's Court today (Jun 04).
Weerasinghe was remanded over charges of spreading content which incited communal tensions, through social media.
During a previous court hearing, the lawyer appearing for the accused had sought a court order to release his client on bail.
Police had informed court that they were investigating the suspect under the Public Security Ordinance, Emergency Regulations, and the Prevention of Terrorism Act.
