A group of 162 returnees from abroad who had undergone the mandatory 14 days of quarantine at the Welikanda, Kandakadu quarantine centre left for their homes this morning (25).
The group is comprised of Sri Lankan nationals who were working in South Korea and Italy as well as their family members. They are residents of Colombo, Kandy, Galle, Matara, Badulla and Negombo.
The returnees who completed their period of quarantine thanked the Government, army, doctors and health workers for their assistance during the time they spent in quarantine.
The Kandakadu quarantine centre is being overseen by Easter Province Security Forces Commander Maj. Gen. Rasika Fernando under the supervision of Army Commander Lt.Gen, Shavendra Silva
