Deputy Minister of Higher Education Nandimithra Ekanayake has pledged his support to the New Democratic Front candidate Maithripala Sirisena today. Speaking to the media with former President Chandrika Kumarathunga, Mr Ekanayake said he has decided to support the opposition candidate based on his policies and nobody approached him to crossover.

A Sri Lankan man was apprehended at Suvarnabhumi airport for attempting to smuggle wildlife out of the country after three ball pythons were found hidden in his underwear, the Bangkok post reported.
