The suspect who allegedly hurled a bottle at a police officer, causing him injuries during the protest near the Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court on Tuesday (26), has been arrested.
Police Media Unit said the suspect was arrested yesterday in Kalutara town and handed over to the Slave Island Police.
The 52-year-old suspect, a resident of Nagoda Kalutara, is a former Urban Councilor, police added.
He is due to be produced before the Fort Magistrate's Court today (28). Slave Island Police are conducting further investigations.
