An anti-Dengue campaign was launched today in five districts ahead of the monsoon rains on instructions of the President’s office, a senior Health Official said.
The campaign was launched in the Colombo, Gampaha, Jaffna, Matale and Batticaloa districts and the Kalmunai area, Director of the National Dengue Control Unit Dr Anura Jayasekara said.
He said 44 MOH areas will be covered under the programme and the assistance of the Police and the armed forces will be used in some cases.
The campaign is expected to continue for a month long period.
All schools will be cleaned on November 30th ahead of the G.C.E. O/L examination on December 2.
