The Apeksha hospital has made an urgent appeal to the Health Ministry to provide drugs urgently required for cancer patients.
This was after some 30 drugs were reported to be short for the hospital.
Director of the Hospital Wasantha Dissanayake said that the former Minister Dr. Rajitha Senaratne had wanted not to highlight the shortage of drugs during his administration.
He said all 30 drugs were urgently required and they were able to reduce the shortage of 10 of the drugs with the help of the state and the donors.
