Reconstruction work has commenced at the St Sebastian's Church in Katuwapitiya which was destroyed during the tragic Easter Sunday terror attacks last month.
Army personnel attached to the 6th Engineers Corps are currently carrying out restoration work which is expected to cost Rs 15 million.
The required funds for restoration activities have been disbursed by the Central Cultural Fund which operates under the Housing, Construction and Cultural Affairs Ministry.
Meanwhile, Rs 3 million of the allocated funds has been handed over to the army personnel who are currently involved in restoration efforts.
