Three suspects involved in the physical assault of a minor in Kotawehera, Nikaweratiya were further remanded in custody till January 30 by Nikaweratiya Magistrate Sasika Lakmali today (16).
The suspects, who included the 13-year-old victim's stepmother, her father and the stepmother's sister were further remanded after Nikaweratiya Police opposed granting bail to the suspects.
The suspects who were remanded are R.M. Nilmini Rathna Kumari (30), a Grama Niladhari, her sister R.M. Manel Rathna Kumari (35) and the victim's father Jamaldeen Abdul Roshan (40).
