Colombo Chief Magistrate today (Jan 31) ordered the release of astrologer Rohana Vijayamuni who was arrested for specifying a false date predicting President Maithripala Sirisena's demise.
Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne told court that the suspect could be released and no further trial would be held upon the advice of the Attorney General.
The suspect was arrested after he predicted the President's death to take place on January 26, 2017 and later posted another update saying that this demise would take place on another day.
