A Colombo-based leading rubber and tea export company's warehouse collapsed a short while ago, with at least seven people being confirmed dead, police said.
The warehouse building is located at Dr Britto Fernandopulle Road, Colombo 14 (Grandpass). It is more than 100 years old. The building had been undergoing refurbishment at the time it collapsed.
The police, fire brigade and area residents are currently trying to rescue those believed to be trapped under the rubble. (CK)
