Five provinces are likely to receive rainfall upto 150mm due to the low-level atmospheric disturbance in the South of Sri Lanka, the Meteorological Department said.
“This situation could prevail in the North-Central, Eastern, Uva, Central and Southern provinces until 2:30 pm tomorrow (Dec 5),” the Disaster Management Centre Deputy Director Pradeep Kodippili said.
Showers above 150 mm are likely at some places in Trincomalee, Batticaloa, Ampara, Mullaitivu, Nuwara-Eliya, Badulla and Monaragala districts, the weather forecast read.
The North-Central, Sabaragamuwa, Southern and Western provinces, and the Matale, Kandy, Jaffna, Mannar, Kilinochchi and Vavuniya districts are likely to receive rains above 100mm.
