Aviation Ports and Shipping Minister Arjuna Ranatunga will be visiting the Ratmalana airport tomorrow with a view to inspecting the runway and hangar areas and discuss with authorities on the conclusion of their audits on the use of these facilities by a controversial flying school, his office said on Monday. The COSMOS flying school was under scrutiny recently since they were in-wanting over non-payment of fees to the Airport and Aviation Services Ltd (AASL) and the renewal of a licence issued by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). Minister Ranatunga is likely to restrict COSMOS from using these facilities in future. COSMOS was granted an extension on the licence to operate the flying school for only one week subject to an audit by the CAA, and the AASL gave extension for one week. (SD)
