The remains of the three deceased Sri Lankan students who were studying in Azerbaijan will arrive in the country this morning, the Ministry of Foreign Relations stated.
In a statement, the Ministry stated that the remains of the deceased studentd will arrive in Colombo on a Qatar Airways flight today at 9.20am.
"The Sri Lanka Missions in Doha and Tehran were in coordination with the Foreign Ministry in Colombo in expediting the repatriation of the remains of the three Sri Lankan students at state expense," the Ministry added.
The three students died in a fire at their apartment in Azerbaijan's capital Baku on January 9. They were studying at the Western Caspian University in Baku at the time of the incident.
