Basil Rajapaksa arrested by FCID

Former Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa has been arrested once more by the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) a short while ago.

Reports say that the former minister was arrested on money laundering charges.

The FCID also briefly arrested Rajapaksa last month in connection with a land issue, while he spent several weeks in remand last year after being arrested on charges of misappropriation of funds belonging to the Divi Neguma Department.
