Basil released on bail
Former Minister Basil Rajapaksa, who was arrested by the Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) this morning, was released on bail by the Matara Magistrate's Court a short while ago.
Rajapaksa was arrested by the FCID this morning after he arrived to give a statement. He was arrested over his alleged connections to a land issue in Matara. He was thereafter transported to the Matara Magistrate's Court.
