Basil released on bail

Former Minister of Economic Development, Basil Rajapaksa, who was arrested by the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID), was released on bail by the Pugoda Magistrate today. 

He was released on a personal bail of Rs.100,000 and two sureties of Rs. 2 million each.

His passport was also impounded by the court.

Rajapaksa had been arrested by the FCID on charges of money laundering.
