Batticaloa Government Agent Ms. P.S.M. Charles has been appointed as the new Director General of Sri Lanka Customs Department with immediate effect. The Cabinet of Ministers has approved this appointment on the recommendations of Minister Mangala Samaraweera, the Finance Ministry announced.
Ms. Charles, a Special Grade Officer of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service has 26 years of service in the public sector has previously served as the Additional GA and the GA, Vavuniya The present DG/SL Customs Mr. W.A. Chulananda Perera is to be appointed as an Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration & Management. (BS)
