Speaker Karu Jayasuriya told Parliament today that the sound system inside the Chamber broke down due to a technical problem and was not an act of sabotage as alleged by some.
“A comprehensive investigation was conducted and it found that the microphone system stopped functioning as they were too old,” the Speaker said.
He said the microphones in the chamber stopped functioning on several occasions before and the system had to be replaced and this would be done on a priority
