Sri Lanka's telephone call and Internet connection charges are to be increased in the 2016 budget which will be presented in Parliament on Friday (tomorrow), informed sources revealed.
In addition to these increased charged, the budget will also increase the tax levied on telecom companies. At present telecom providers pay a tax of 12.24 per cent tax which would be increased, an official of the leading telecom provider who wished to remain anonymous, said.
