A special four-member committee has been appointed by the cabinet in order to address the power crisis being faced by the country at present.
This committee will comprise Ministers Ravi Karunanayake, Kabir Hashim, Dr. Harsha de Silva and Eran Wickremaratne.
President Maithripala Sirisena, during yesterday's cabinet meeting had stressed that the rift between the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) and the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) was the main cause for this power crisis.
On the same lines he had pointed out that it was the ordinary people who have to face the brunt of such disputes.
