Cabinet approves appointment of Secretaries to State Ministries
The cabinet of ministers has approved the appointments of secretaries to certain state ministries during yesterday's cabinet meeting (Mar 06).
Accordingly, Sunil Samaraweera has been appointed as the secretary to the State Ministry of Mass Media. He has previously served in the capacity of Secretary to the State Ministry of Defence.
Meanwhile, N.K.P.K Nammowatte has been appointed to the Post of Secretary to the State Ministry of Defence.
Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Mahaweli Development Mapa Pathirana has been appointed as the secretary to the state ministry of Mahaweli Development and Enviornment.
Further, the cabinet also approved the appointmet of Jayasiri Wijenath to the post of Prisons Commissioner General. Mr. Wijenath was serving as the additional secretary to the Labour Ministry until very recently.
