The cabinet of ministers has granted approval to purchase 20 sniffer dogs for narcotics detection at the Bandaranaike International Airport.
Approval was granted after a cabinet paper was submitted by Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Arjuna Ranatunga in this regard today (Jan 29).
One sniffer dog will be purchased at a cost of Rs 2 million. Accordingly, the total cost for this initiative would be Rs 40.6 million.
