Cabinet approval has been granted to put forward a vote-on budget amounting to Rs 1735 billion before Parliament in due course.
The proposal which would cater to the financial expenditure for the first quarter of 2019, was passed during yesterday's cabinet meeting when it was put forward by Mahinda Rajapaksa in his capacity as Finance Minister.
Accordingly the budget allocations comprise a sum of Rs 760 million for the sustainance of the Government Public Service, Rs 970 billion for the expenditures previously authorised by different laws and Rs 5 billion for the Government Advance Account.
