Cabinet approval has been granted to submit a bill and gazette the establishment of the Sri Lanka Psychology Association.
Parliamentarian Thilanga Sumathipala had submitted a private member's bill to this effect in 2011.
It had later been amended by the Legal Draftsman upon the advice of the cabinet sub-committee on legislation.
A proposal had been put forward to proceed with the amended bill by Minister Rajitha Senaratne during the cabinet meeting yesterday (Aug 13).
