The Cabinet of Ministers granted approval to sign an agreement with India to obtain a Rs 300 million grant to upgrade the Palay International Airport (JIA) as actions have already been taken to develop the JIA. The Cabinet Memorandum was submitted by Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation Prasanna Ranathunga.
With the Indian government agreed to provide a grant of Rs 300 million, the grant is expected to be used to improve facilities in the areas of airport terminal modification, electricity supply, utility services and transit services.
