Cabinet sub-committee on cost of living to be appointed

Cabinet approved a proposal by the President for the appointment of a cost of living cabinet sub-committee under his chairmanship to provide recommendations to the Cabinet.

The committee will comprise the following members : Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Economic & Policy Development; Minister of Mahaweli, Agriculture, Irrigation & Rural Development, Internal Trade & Food Security and Consumer Welfare; Minister of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources and Plantation Industries & Export Agriculture.

Similarly, a decision was taken to appoint a committee comprising six state ministers and 12 officials to assist this sub-committee.
