A cabinet Sub Committee comprising of 11 ministers have been set up to look into implications of any proposed foreign investments into the country.
President Gotabaya Rajapaksa will head the Committee.
They are expected to look into the consistency with government policy, national security, and its implications, use of state funds, legality, environmental issues, use of land and ownership, job opportunities, impact on the local markets, foreign exchange and banking and financial matters.
The members of the sub committee are, Prime Ministre Mahinda Rajapaksa, and ministers Douglas Devannanda, Gamini Lokuge, Bandula Gunawardena, Dullas Allhapperuma,, Jhonston Fernando, Wimal Weerawansa, Mahinda Amaraweera, S.M. Chandrasena, Vasudeva Nanayakkara and Udaya Gammanpila
