Canada has released remarks via its Global Affairs Canada handle on Twitter to express "deep concern" over President Maithripala Sirisena's decision to dissolve Parliament with effect from midnight yesterday (Nov 09).
The tweet noted that the move to dissolve Parliament was"corrosive to Sri Lanka's democratic future"
Canada is deeply concerned by the decision to dissolve Sri Lanka’s Parliament. This further political uncertainty is corrosive to Sri Lanka’s democratic future and its commitments on reconciliation and accountability.
