The corruption case filed against one time Chief Justice and Attorney General Mohan Peiris and two others was fixed for further hearing on June 16 next year by Colombo's Chief Magistrate.
Mr. Peiris is charged with preparing a fraudulent report while he was the AG to prevent charges being filed against those who were involved in irregularities in the purchase of lands belonging to Lanka Electricity Company Pvt (Ltd.) (LECO).
A.H.M.D. Nawaz - a former Appeal Court Judge and former Solicitor General, and M.M.C Fernandinez - former LECO secretary are the other suspects in the case.
During today's hearing the Bribery Commission informed Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne that the Supreme Court has issued an interim order suspending the hearing of the case.
The suspects have been accused of violating Section 70 of the Bribery Act.
