The case against Shashi Weerawansa, wife of National Freedom Front (NFF) leader Wimal Weerawansa, has been fixed for trial for February 8 by the Colombo Chief Magistrate.
Weerawansa is accused of fraudulently obtaining two passports - including a diplomatic passport - by submitting forged documents to the Department of Immigration and Emigration.
Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya noticed the first and second witnesses in the case to appear in Courts on February 8. Shashi Weerawansa was arrested in February 2015 by the CID and is currently on bail.
