The case filed against three persons including Opposition Parliamentarian Prasanna Ranatunga has been postponed until September 17 by the Colombo High Court.
MP Ranatunga, his wife Morin Ranatunga and her cousin brother Naresh Farik have been named as suspects for demanding Rs 64 million from a businessman for a land filling project at a land plot in Meethotamulla.
The case was due to be taken up before High Court judge Manju Tilakaratne today (Aug 1), but had been postponed since the judge had to take part in another hearing on the Welikada prison riots.
Court had previously decided to proceed with the case although Naresh Farik, the third accused, had been absconding arrest overseas.
