A group of persons has looted cash and gold jewelry from the Sri Maha Badrakali Amman Temple in Galthanna, Kandy today (Sept 25).
Police said that the theft had been carried out by a seven-member group that had tied up the employees at the Temple.
It is believed that the group, had brandished a pistol, and had locked up the priest in a room at the time of the theft.
Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
