CC recommends Priyasad Dep for next Chief Justice

The Constitutional Council (CC) which met last evening has recommended Supreme Court Judge Priyasad Dep as the new Chief Justice of Sri Lanka. 

The Chief Justice is appointed by the President on the recommendation of the CC. 

Incumbent Chief Justice K. Sripavan is due to retire from service today (28). He will receive a ceremonial farewell at the Supreme Court.
