The Constitutional Council (CC) today recommended Senior DIG Pujith Jayasundara as the 34th Inspector General of Police (IGP). The recommendation of the Council will be conveyed to the President.
The decision came after council convened this evening under the patronage of the Speaker at the Parliament. Acting IGP S. M. Wickremesinghe,Senior DIGs Chandana Wickremeratne and Jayasundara, were nominated to the post and summoned before the council for an interview today.
