The Government plans to install Closed-circuit television (CCTV) video surveillance camera at the world heritage site of Sigiriya to safeguard the frescos as well as the entire site, Parliament was informed today.
Minister of Akila Kariyawasam under whose purview the Archelogy Department functions said the process to procure the cameras is underway. “We will give maximum security to this world heritage site,” he said.
The Minister said this in response to a question raised by UNP Matara District MP Buddhika Pathirana.
